I'm a Visual Arts teacher with a background in Art and Design. Before teaching, I worked as an editor, journalist, and graphic designer, experiences that continue to shape the way I look at art today.

This blog began as a place to write about paintings that stayed with me long after I had stopped looking at them. Over time, it became a space to think through the ideas behind artworks—history, philosophy, literature, film, and the questions they quietly ask.

I don't believe there is always a single "correct" interpretation of an artwork. The essays here are simply my own encounters with paintings that have challenged, unsettled, or inspired me. If they encourage someone else to look a little longer or think a little differently, then they've done what I hoped they would.

Outside of teaching, I spend far too much time reading, watching films, listening to music, and pretending I'm not becoming a literary snob.
